Alternatives established First RYEDC in Taprang Village
The long awaited dream of alternatives finally came true on 11th January 2009 when the Rural Youth Entrepreneurship Development Centre (RYEDC) was inaugurated in Taprang jointly by Tirtha Shrestha, Lucky Chhetri and Captain Dev Prasad Gurung. Alternatives is an organization led by young, energetic, dynamic and multi-talented youths of Pokhara. It was initiated in 2006 with the purpose of empowering young people. The members of Althernatives have been working hard since last one year to collect resources for their RYEDC. Alternatives plan to open RYEDC in the entire VDCs of Kaski district and as a first phase of their program they opened a RYEDC in Taprang of Sildujure VDC of Kaski district.

Alternatives to Preserve youth Invention, the first Nepalese Aircraft "Danfe"
Alternatives regularly provide an interactive forum to make youth aware about entrepreneurial development and to discuss on different political, social, civic, business and economic issues with the local and national level expertise. With joint hand with Youth Initiative Pokhara, Alternatives organized an interaction program on “Nepalese Effort on Aviation and Youth” on December 21, 2008.

One Day Youth Entrepreneurship Motivational Program concluded
Alternatives organized one Youth Entrepreneurial Motivational Program in Naulo Ghumti, Pokhara to its executive member of the organization. Total 18 different executive level staffs participated on the program. The program is also aimed to make them aware about the need of youth entrepreneurship development. Mr. Sanjeev Raj Neupane, Program Coordinator of Naulo Ghumti, welcomed and introduced the Alternatives team (Jiban Baral and Samundra Paudel) as well as explained the need of that program in their organization and put for good wishes for the program.

A Generation Awakens
For most people Dashain is over once they receive tika and blessings from their family members and relatives. But for some youths from Pokhara, Dashain is more than that. For them Dashain is not over until and unless they visit a special place in Pokhara. This special place is Bridhaashram (elderly home) of Pokhara.
