Alternatives selected 12 students as GL Fellows

July 4, 2012 (Pokhara, Kaski). Today, Alternatives Nepal with the cooperation with Eva Nepal, Inc. selected 12 outstanding students as Gaky's Light Fellows. Gaky's Light Fellowship Program (GLFP) is a scholarship, training and guidance counseling program for Nepalese youth from uneducated communities. GL fellows receive certain scholarship facilities for intermediate level education. Additionally they receive weekly training on career development, technology, entrepreneurship, journalism and language, get mentorship and guidance counseling. The ultimate focus of GLFP is to develop youth and professional skills for employment and motivated youth towards enterprise creation.

Ms. Indira Regmi Selected as Youth Ambassdor

June 2, 2012 (Pokhara, Kaski). Ms. Indira Regmi, Program Officer, Alternatives has been selected as youth ambassador for 2012-2013 of Asia Pacific Youth Network. Asia Pacific Youth Network is a sister organization of Amnesty International and a network of over 10,000 young people in at least 29 countries in Asia Pacific working for human rights change.

Ms. Regmi has been selected as emerging youth leader working on human rights issues on local community level. Through Youth Ambassador Initiative, she is expected to work on her theme "Entrepreneurship Education: Basic rights of Youth" for next 18 months in her local community.

Founder Samundra Paudel Participated on CGIU 2012

April 2, 2012 (Washington DC, USA). Founder/ President of Alternatives, Mr. Samundra Paudel participated on the Fifth Annual Clinton Global Initiative University (CGIU) meeting, an initiative started by President Bill Clinton in 2007 to engage the next generation of leaders of around the world. The meeting was held from March 30 - April 1, 2012 at George Washington University, Washington DC, USA.

Each year, CGI U hosts a meeting where students, youth organizations, topic experts, and celebrities come together to discuss and develop innovative solutions to pressing global challenges.
